About Us

why choose boarding in my home vs. other types of boarding?

Your dog will stay in my home as part of the family, alongside my dogs and cats. This home environment helps maintain a sense of comfort and normalcy, allowing your dog to enjoy a familiar routine, cozy sleeping arrangements, and individualized care—without the stress and overstimulation often found in traditional kennel settings.

I am only away from home for short periods while working with training clients, running errands, or attending personal activities, so your dog will receive plenty of companionship and supervision throughout their stay.

I tailor each dog’s experience to their normal routine and preferences. If your dog sleeps in bed with you, they are welcome to sleep in bed with me. If they are accustomed to crate time, I will maintain that schedule as well. Feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions are followed exactly as provided.

Your dog will also enjoy my large, secure backyard where they can safely run, sniff, play, and relax in the fresh mountain air. For dogs who enjoy outings, we can go on walks or even visit dog-friendly local restaurants and establishments.

My cats are dog-friendly and tolerant, and my dogs are social, welcoming, and accustomed to having canine guests in our home. In the evenings, your dog can settle in and relax just as they would at home—whether that means curling up on the couch, lounging in a comfy chair, or enjoying snuggle time.

Daily enrichment activities are included to keep your dog mentally and physically fulfilled, and I provide daily photo and video updates so you can stay connected during your dog’s stay.

As a Certified Canine Behavior Specialist, with a partner who is a Veterinarian, your dog is in experienced, knowledgeable, and caring hands. We know dogs, and we genuinely love what we do.

Dogs Relaxing Together

typical day

A Day in Our Home

Mornings begin naturally between 7:00–8:00 a.m.—no alarms here. We ease into the day by heading outside for a potty break, followed by relaxed time to fully wake up (and for me to enjoy my morning coffee).

Breakfast is served around 9:00 a.m., with all dogs separated to ensure a calm, stress-free feeding experience. Morning medications are administered at this time if needed. After eating, dogs rest to support healthy digestion, while puppies may head back outside for an additional potty break.

Once everyone is ready, it’s time for outdoor fun. Dogs can play, explore, or simply relax in our large, secure yard filled with enriching “sniffy” areas. We have a wide variety of toys—balls, tug toys, chew toys, and more—and even a bone-shaped pool for dogs who enjoy the water. For dogs accustomed to walks, we explore our quiet gravel driveway, with options ranging from a scenic mountain road to a peaceful, car-free utility path ideal for more sensitive dogs.

After morning activities, dogs enjoy enrichment time followed by rest. If I have clients, I step out for a few hours; otherwise, I’m home tending to daily tasks while the dogs relax nearby. The day flows naturally, alternating between rest and activity, always tailored to each dog’s individual energy level and needs.

Evenings are calm and flexible. We may go for another walk or continue with relaxed outdoor time. Dinner is served with the same attention to safety and routine, and any evening medications are given at that time. While I typically spend evenings at home, occasional outings may include dog-friendly environments for those who enjoy social experiences.

Bedtime begins around 9:00 p.m. with a final potty break and a chance to unwind. Dogs settle in while I prepare for the next day. Bedtime medications are given if needed, and each dog receives a treat before lights out between 10:00–11:00 p.m.

Above all, I prioritize a calm, supportive environment. If a dog needs help settling, feels anxious, or is adjusting to a new space, I have the experience and knowledge to guide them. My goal is to provide a safe, structured, and enjoyable home where your dog can relax and thrive while you’re away.
